Summer house

sørlandet, NORWAY

2013

Rehabilitation and transformation of a Magnus Poulsson house in Southern Norway. The main house and a detached waterfront annex are beautifully situated on a 14-acre peninsula, surrounded by cliffs, a pine forest, and the fjord. Originally built in 1954 for opera singer Fanny Elsta and shipping magnate Herman Lepsøe, the project focuses on preserving the property's original qualities while enhancing usability and interior space.

The main house's exterior is restored to its exact original specifications, featuring genuine detailing and materials. The interior is thoughtfully transformed to meet modern needs while maintaining a historic charm. The annex is redesigned as a tranquil, open space with a subtle exterior.
