Nesodden HOUSE

NESODDEN, NORWAY

2021

The house is set on the east side of Nesodden peninsula, overlooking Bunnefjorden and Oslo. To comply with strict building regulations and the steep hillside, the house uses half-levels integrated into the terrain, utilizing the slope and minimizing height while preserving a strong design concept. From the road, the house appears low, allowing views over the roof.

Entering at the upper level, the kitchen connects to a double-height living room with a cantilevered balcony offering panoramic fjord views. A large sliding door creates a seamless indoor-outdoor experience. The lower levels house bedrooms, bathrooms, and utility spaces, with large windows framing views of Oslo and the surrounding trees.

Constructed from porous concrete with terracotta plaster, the interior features mineral-paint that changes with the light, and pale oak furnishings complemented by metallic powder-coated details.
